The other side...?

Have you started feeling at home in Cartesio yet? The town has offered you every hospitality that its citizens could think of. They love every corner of this town and they want you to feel the same. Have you accepted Cartesio into your heart yet?

Then it should be comforting to wake in your hotel room. A ceiling you have gotten used to, the warmth of a blanket surrounding you, your own breathing... and silence. All-encompassing silence.
It perseveres when you leave your room, it perseveres when you leave the hotel... Cartesio is quiet because there is nobody in Cartesio who could be making noise. It's a ghost town.

There is only you now, you think. And then, just as you've given up, a noise comes to your ears. A voice, unmistakably. It's time to follow it.

As of Week 5 you may see random objects and buildings of any size flicker. For milli-seconds they seem to glow on and off, blur around the edges, even distort a little. It only happens for a moment at a time, but it happens fairly often.

Welcome to the Cartesio Graveyard. Your character has woken up in a version of the town that is devoid of citizens, but there do seem to be a few people around. Time to explore the mysteries of the other side. For a more thorough OOC guide, we have compiled an FAQ.

That's... a favorable interpretation. I found the note and I panicked. I knew Keith was in my room, sleeping, so it had to be someone else and I couldn't really think anything but that I had to hurry and get there in time.

That's as good as not thinking at all, really. I should have known that I wouldn't be capable to do anything on my own.

So you and Keet, huh? He is kind of pretty when you get past the whole... you know.

[ She smiles at the thinking part, but then her face rapidly dissolves into confusion. ]

[ AH. Realization. Realization which is quickly followed by flailing. ]

No, no, it isn't like that at all! We're friends! He's only 20.

Huh. Really? You guys just slept?

[ The town made it sound like they spent the night together, but then Keith is so literal. It was probably just sleeping. ]

Guess that means you won't even look my way, huh?

[ Teasing a bit. He's not actually serious here. ]

[ Yes, they just slept!! Gosh, Cian is so embarrassed by any assumptions to the contrary. In fact, she is kind of blushing.

The last comment gets more of a mock scandalized look though and a little laugh. ]

I'm 11 years your senior, silly. You'll do so much better in your own age bracket.

[ Okay that made the assumption worth it.

He only grins at the look and the laugh. ]

Hey, you look only five years older.

[ Wink. And then he'll give her a squeeze. ]

I did find someone. Or at least I think I did.

[ Oh, that's unexpected. And a little weird, considering they're all quite literally dead, but.... if they already still exist, what's the use being gloomy all the time, right?! ]

[ Would dying enough times count as a double negative? Cause this life time he's dead twice over. ]

[ It's said while smiling, but Cian is really having a bit of trouble adjusting to the thought of death not being the end. Everything gets a lot more complicated that way. ]

[ Hey, guess what? Nine is still pretty sure he's joining his sibs at the end of this. ]

That's a little scary, isn't it? Just... existing on but until a totally uncertain time.

I mean, it was scary before, with all the murder... But this uncertainty is somehow a little worse.

[ And she laughs a bit, because really, what else can she even do anymore. ]

[ He knows this. He's known this before dying again and before even Cart.

[ Cian knows it's more than hypocritical to feel sad about it, but it's difficult to swallow the emotion. ]

[ And he can't...fathom being without them long term. It's been rough already not having them, but he has a mission to throw himself. ]
