GRAVEYARD

The other side...?
Have you started feeling at home in Cartesio yet? The town has offered you every hospitality that its citizens could think of. They love every corner of this town and they want you to feel the same. Have you accepted Cartesio into your heart yet?
Then it should be comforting to wake in your hotel room. A ceiling you have gotten used to, the warmth of a blanket surrounding you, your own breathing... and silence. All-encompassing silence.
It perseveres when you leave your room, it perseveres when you leave the hotel... Cartesio is quiet because there is nobody in Cartesio who could be making noise. It's a ghost town.
There is only you now, you think. And then, just as you've given up, a noise comes to your ears. A voice, unmistakably. It's time to follow it.
As of Week 5 you may see random objects and buildings of any size flicker. For milli-seconds they seem to glow on and off, blur around the edges, even distort a little. It only happens for a moment at a time, but it happens fairly often.
Welcome to the Cartesio Graveyard. Your character has woken up in a version of the town that is devoid of citizens, but there do seem to be a few people around. Time to explore the mysteries of the other side. For a more thorough OOC guide, we have compiled an FAQ.

existing on monday + investigation
for most of the day, he'll be found in the library, just...browsing through books. he's not looking for anything specific, just any title that might pique his interest. he might even be found reading every once in a while!
that said, in the evening, he'll be testing his new ghostly body by heading to the police. while oda's not really sure what he can do or what he can find...he thinks this might be a good place to know more about whatever is going on in this city. ]

Inside the police office there is file cabinets labeled 'SALARIES' 'VACATION SCHEDULES' 'REGISTRATIONS' and 'CASE RECORDS 2000-2015' and 'CASE RECORDS 1975-1999'. Registrations, and the more recent case records have been broken open, the other cabinets are locked. There's also some paperwork on the desk.
Next to the office door, stairs lead to the second floor.]

anything worth reading? ]

Other than that, those files have nothing that Oda wouldn't have already known.
Meanwhile, the files in the cabinet are all blank like the ones Keith found in the first week.
Doesn't seem like there's anything new down here. ]
existing somewhere around town
Today, she's hunting him down. This is probably especially distressing given that she is currently clutching a hat full of rusty knives, but, you know. When has Millium ever not been distressing?]
Oda.
[Tiny daughter is here and ready to kick her dad's ass. Let's go.]
no subject
[ somehow, the fact that she's holding the rusty knives isn't distressing enough to make him worry about his own safety, but more about her's. even if she's dead, he still needs to worry, alright?
even so, he lowkey hopes that she won't ask about how he got here. ]
What's up?
no subject
What do you mean, what's up?!
[...She doesn't need to ask, Oda. She knows.]
Why did you do it?! Why'd you leave Dazai?! He needed you!
no subject
[ a day ago, he would have said that dazai doesn't really need him...but cian kind of proved that wrong. and even if part of him still feels that way, most of him realizes that it's a stupid way to think.
so he sighs, looking away. ]
I...was angry. I guess. [ a huge understatement ]
no subject
And that was more important than him?!
[Because it's them all over again, isn't it? Revenge before reason, and now one has to wander alone while the other rests six feet under.
He can survive – Millium knows he must have before, and Rean survived, too – but it's not fair. It's not right.]
no subject
[ because even if dazai was more important than his stupid revenge, there's no way to go back in time now. what's done is done and that means that he must face whatever consequences come with his actions.
this, included. ]
I'm sure he's fine, Millium.
the spoilers will never end
[She has absolutely become the consequences. The rage in her eyes, glassy with welling tears, would almost be frightening if it weren't coming from this tiny child.]
And sure. Sure, he'll survive. Rean survived, too! But he's not okay. Ignoring everything about all of this, [she motions around as if to indicate, well, everything,] I dunno that he ever will be again!
[And that's a part of what this is about, isn't it? Just having the chance to shout at someone like she never did with Crow.
Granted, it wasn't strictly Crow's fault that he died. It is Oda's, though. And it's even worse with Oda, isn't it? He had a second chance. He had a second chance, and he threw it away. For what?
For her?]
Dazai, either! He already lost you once! He loved you!

[ oda isn’t silent because he’s out of an argument. he can still argue that his presence wouldn’t help or worsen dazai’s situation at all; that hole of dazai’s will never be filled.
but he stays silent, because he doesn’t want to anger millium more than he already has. besides, it’s not like she’s wrong either... it just doesn’t matter anymore. ]
Mm, you’re right.

If it's a victory, it feels hollow.
She swallows hard, and it's clear when she speaks she's lost a good deal of her fire.]
T-that's... don't just agree with me!
Didn't you care?!
