The other side...?

Have you started feeling at home in Cartesio yet? The town has offered you every hospitality that its citizens could think of. They love every corner of this town and they want you to feel the same. Have you accepted Cartesio into your heart yet?

Then it should be comforting to wake in your hotel room. A ceiling you have gotten used to, the warmth of a blanket surrounding you, your own breathing... and silence. All-encompassing silence.
It perseveres when you leave your room, it perseveres when you leave the hotel... Cartesio is quiet because there is nobody in Cartesio who could be making noise. It's a ghost town.

There is only you now, you think. And then, just as you've given up, a noise comes to your ears. A voice, unmistakably. It's time to follow it.

As of Week 5 you may see random objects and buildings of any size flicker. For milli-seconds they seem to glow on and off, blur around the edges, even distort a little. It only happens for a moment at a time, but it happens fairly often.

Welcome to the Cartesio Graveyard. Your character has woken up in a version of the town that is devoid of citizens, but there do seem to be a few people around. Time to explore the mysteries of the other side. For a more thorough OOC guide, we have compiled an FAQ.

[A nod.] We've met some of them. They remember the people they know from home, at least. [And another nod.] Yes. I hope the people I left them in the care of do good by them.

Really? That's news to me... Huh.

[He figured they were totally brainwashed. That's really interesting to know.

As for the the topic of Pokemon:]

Someone in my group spoke about Pokemon and having some as well. Fascinating monsters, from the sound of it! Took me some time to come to terms with the whole battling thing, though.

[A slight nod.] I don't think we can see them from here, or I would be willing to show you mine. And battling is indeed something they enjoy doing by themselves, even in the wild. Trained Pokemon actually have something of an advantage.

[monstrology]

Ahhh, how I'd love to be able to see them! Alas...

[He keeps being denied the excellent Monster Content, it's such a tragedy.]

Yeah, finding that out helped. Y'see, back home, a lot of terrible people like forcing monsters into fighting for them. So my reaction to Pokemon battles was on the kneejerk side, I admit.

[silvertongueheir]

[He nods.] It's a poor trainer who has to force their Pokemon to battle. [Even Gerard and Minke, the shyest of his team, have gotten more enthusiastic and determined about battle over time.] Could you see my addition to the mural, at least? [There's one Pokemon there for you.]

[monstrology]

[There's a pause as Will thinks back to the mural...and just like that, his expression brightens.]

Oh. Oh! So that was one of your Pokemon?!

[silvertongueheir]

[He nods, a tiny smile coming to his face.] That was Hydrangea-they're the child of the legendary Shaymin.
