The other side...?

Have you started feeling at home in Cartesio yet? The town has offered you every hospitality that its citizens could think of. They love every corner of this town and they want you to feel the same. Have you accepted Cartesio into your heart yet?

Then it should be comforting to wake in your hotel room. A ceiling you have gotten used to, the warmth of a blanket surrounding you, your own breathing... and silence. All-encompassing silence.
It perseveres when you leave your room, it perseveres when you leave the hotel... Cartesio is quiet because there is nobody in Cartesio who could be making noise. It's a ghost town.

There is only you now, you think. And then, just as you've given up, a noise comes to your ears. A voice, unmistakably. It's time to follow it.

As of Week 5 you may see random objects and buildings of any size flicker. For milli-seconds they seem to glow on and off, blur around the edges, even distort a little. It only happens for a moment at a time, but it happens fairly often.

Welcome to the Cartesio Graveyard. Your character has woken up in a version of the town that is devoid of citizens, but there do seem to be a few people around. Time to explore the mysteries of the other side. For a more thorough OOC guide, we have compiled an FAQ.

Hah! He'd never do it. If he did, he'd never be able to be a Hero again. If they don't get that then they're all a pack of imbeciles, because he'd be fucked if he did it at all, even if he did get away with it.

Someone else obviously did it, and I don't know who out of the other four but I'm sure Hawks had no part in it. Blockhead too, I guess.

[ Bakugou looks kind of proud though for a moment. ]

Yeah. I know enough to just know he'd fucking never.

[ He snorts. ]

Nah...Bolin. I don't know weaponsfreak, or really, 'Keet' all that much, so I don't fucking know with him at all.

I don't think Dabi did it. Not without at least taking out an entire building, yo.

[ Chiming in from the sidelines here, because she doesn't think Dabi is dumb and that somehow means defending his honor by proclaiming his likelihood of murder? Yeah, sounds about right. ]

[ Wow. Nine isn't really as convinced, but Bakky knows him better. ]

Hey, did we hear anything about what the hell the motive was?

[ He's going to move close enough to brush his arm with his own. ]

[ After Nine does that brush, he makes sure to take the blond's arm within his own and lean against his shoulder. After this moment of pause, Dabi reveals himself. ]

...Wow, what a dick. I was expecting it, but it's actually kind of fucking sad how predictable that was. [ He always thinks it's Dabi whenever he's up there, so ] At least this'll make people stop being idiots over Hawks.

[ Hmm-ing softly because he's pretty distracted by the contact for a moment. ]

People are going to be dumb regardless.

[ As evident as Keith still hitting up Hawks with questions about the coat and his mighty wings. ]

[ Bakugou's hands clench tightly. What's going on...? The townspeople were questioning it too but also it was hard to tell who was convinced of what. ]

[ Then this happens. His expressions looks so... like someone just slapped him in the face and the sheer surprise is just insurmountable. ]

[ The question asked so quietly that it can barely be heard. ]

[ Okay, well. ]

...He's lying. He didn't kill anyone. He wouldn't...he's a hero - the number two Hero. He wanted, more than anyone, to keep people from dying, that's why we went on patrols.

[ That's probably not a good sign for his mental state right now, uhhh. ]

[ He can feel his heart hurt at that. Bakky really, really admires Hawks, and Nine knows he's pretty cool. The combo of the look and Bakugou insisting that it's all lies kicks him into gear. Snagging his arm to pull him. ]

[ Too late though because he just heard that Hawks is a dirty ass TRAITOR. No one else would be able to parse those words or connect the dots as he did, but boy, that is exactly what this means to Bakugou. And then this.

So many thoughts are running through his head that it'd give Deku's thought process a run for his money and he almost doesn't quite hear Nine's words. The point is that he does, but he doesn't register them.

Suddenly, Bakugou pulls away with a look on his face of complete and utter rage. It's nothing like what Nine's ever seen before. Not even Clarisse's shit has made him this angry before.

It almost feels like he's screaming, because he is, and his hands are sparking - no, not just sparking, there are mini explosions as the angry blond finally let's out something that are definitely words. ]

THAT FUCKING TRAITOROUS BASTARD! HE WAS LYING ALL THIS ENTIRE TIME?! THAT ASSHOLE DIDN'T EVEN CARE! FUCK HIM, FUCK THAT FUCKING DIPSHIT I'M GOING TO FUCKING KILL HIM AND THAT SHITTY SHITSTAIN OF A VILLAIN ONCE I GET MY FUCKING HANDS ON BOTH OF THEM AND TEAR THEM BOTH TO FUCKING PIECES UNTIL THERE'S NOTHING LEFT!

[ If Nine doesn't stop him he's literally about to hurl an explosion at one of the walls - might be a good idea to try to stop him. Because it's probably Nine who can do anything, even if he didn't quite process the words the first time. ]

[ Bakky is out of his grasp and preparing to fuck shit up. The only reason Nine won't let him do whatever the hell he wants is because Cian is crying on the floor, Millium might be here, and Sakura is probably still in the fucking courthouse on the other side. So Nine moves without thinking to stand in front of his boyfriend. Putting his hands on his shoulders and ignoring how close he is to the sparks. ]

Not now! You're going to save it, right? You can blow their asses up when they get here!

[ Squeezing his shoulders to try to ground him physically. ]

Let's go.

[ Careful, those sparks are mini explosions now.

His red eyes flicker up to meet Nine's and for a moment there seems like there's going to be no agreement, no nothing. But, they die out in pure silence, more because the other blond's so close than anything else, though the squeezing does help ground him. Then there's this 'cuz of course the townspeople are gonna talk about it. ]

The police station. Now.

[ Then, he goes to head out of the courtroom. ]

[ Go ahead and singe him a little. He's in his short sleeves so there's more skin there to get.

Nine's own blue eyes meets his gaze and he holds it for as long as needed. Then it's gone. He doesn't let himself relax just yet. ]

Alright.

[ He will follow after him without any complaint. Giving a glance behind him at Cian for a moment and seeing Millium with her. He'll check on them later. Jogging after Bakugou to the police station. ]

[ God he didn't even mean to do that but that is what happened . . . and as they're walking, Bakugou begins to talk. ]

I trusted him. I thought he cared more about saving people then killing them, but I was wrong the whole time. All this time... he's just been bullshitting. I even let him hold onto something, that was probably worthless now that I think about it.

[ What a joke. What did it mean for hero society, that their no.2 hero was in fact actually a villain? That's not how you change things. Even he knows it (or believes it.) ]

[ He falls into step beside him, reaching over to put his hand on his back as he listens. It hurts that someone fucking broke Bakugou's trust like this. That all the admiration he felt towards him is shattered but... ]

That's how adults are, yo. They are all selfish as hell and will betray anyone just for their own motives.

Some of them are that way, anyway. Endeavor's a piece of shit though so maybe I should've saw this coming.

[ Bakugou was utterly upset. He didn't just admire Hawks, but he actually had the chance to speak to him, to get to know him. Maybe they could've been really good friends. ]

Too bad you have nothing flashy to blow shit up like I do, huh?

[ Looks like they're here. Bakugou begins to throw some explosions right into the police walls, easily blowing right through it, and creating probably a hole with some dedication. ]

Nine grins at the explosions, a lot more comfortable with this. He steps away to let him have space. ]

[ Love is in there so easily and casually. ]

Maybe I should try to see if I can do something about making you a better makeshift spear than anyone else here could.

[ Bugging Eric to help with that too. That said, his heart kind of skips a beat when he says... love, and he even stops for a bit. He's still upset, but the effect is still there nonetheless. ]

[ He also kind of motions with his hand for Nine to follow because he's walking right inside of the police station too. He's going to be tossing some explosions at some of the walls and doors once inside. ]

[ He honestly didn't even think about making an actual spear. Even while they have been working on the stupid as hell status of Keet Shady Ass. His expression changes pretty visibly from surprise, thoughtful, and then a full on smile there. Bakugou making him a spear. It's an amazing thought. Rubbing the back of his head. ]

I like that idea, yo.

[ He would cherish it more than the spear he got from Mother or the one he won from that crazy ass weirdo with all the weapons?

Though Bakugou saying love does cause him to almost stumble. Looking at him dumbly for a moment before he follows after as he indicates. It's that newer feeling again that's stronger than like. ]

[ Bakugou just doesn't think it could be too hard, just blast around some stone, have Eric come in and finetune the details, then get some long wooden part attached to it and you're done. It'd probably end up being more than a makeshift spear, for real. ]

[ Bakugou blows apart a door in the police station just because he can. He'll also toss some explosions at any cameras he sees. For awhile, he doesn't seem to say much else or anything regarding that comment elaboration, however, and continues the onslaught of explosions, tearing through the hallway even into the cell area. He'll turn to face Nine soon enough, as a bead of sweat slips down his face. ]

Nine, I'll cut straight to the bullshit. It's obvious that I love you, since we're dating, and there's a lot I love about you. Your stupid smile, the fact that you're not always an idiot, and you just fucking care so much - that's not even everything, either.

And you know what? When we get out of here, I want to introduce you to my annoying family.

[ He releases a sigh, thinking over his previous words, he knows he can't take both Hawks and Dabi on at the same time. It was just something useless said in anger and despair. But boy he's going to bitch Hawks out and then just distance himself from him. What a bastard.

At least he said 'I love you' first. He bets Hawks never did that, or anyone else here. No one can beat him and Nine. ]
