The other side...?

Have you started feeling at home in Cartesio yet? The town has offered you every hospitality that its citizens could think of. They love every corner of this town and they want you to feel the same. Have you accepted Cartesio into your heart yet?

Then it should be comforting to wake in your hotel room. A ceiling you have gotten used to, the warmth of a blanket surrounding you, your own breathing... and silence. All-encompassing silence.
It perseveres when you leave your room, it perseveres when you leave the hotel... Cartesio is quiet because there is nobody in Cartesio who could be making noise. It's a ghost town.

There is only you now, you think. And then, just as you've given up, a noise comes to your ears. A voice, unmistakably. It's time to follow it.

As of Week 5 you may see random objects and buildings of any size flicker. For milli-seconds they seem to glow on and off, blur around the edges, even distort a little. It only happens for a moment at a time, but it happens fairly often.

Welcome to the Cartesio Graveyard. Your character has woken up in a version of the town that is devoid of citizens, but there do seem to be a few people around. Time to explore the mysteries of the other side. For a more thorough OOC guide, we have compiled an FAQ.

[ Yeah that doesn't take Dabi long to figure out who Nine's talking about. For now he'll play along, though the grin does stand out to him. He'll slip into a causal grin of his own. ]

[ Thinking back to when they had the quirk talk about flame beardo the extra and his wings. ]

I can't remember. Was pretty distracted with the whole slide show. Got the impression he wasn't really impressed by...

[ Nine just gestures to all of him. ]

Guess he likes something about you after all, huh?

[ Dealing with the jabs is one thing, that's easy and doesn't throw him off whatsoever. The second part though... he runs a hand through his hair, not really sure what to do with his face. ]

Yeah, well—he's always chasing after things he shouldn't.

[ Whoa back up. ]

Wait. He's the one that did the chasing? For real?

[ He hates this conversation and wants to combust. Nine's lucky the only reason he's getting somewhat real answers is because Dabi hasn't recovered from everything yet. ]

...do either of us look like we enjoy stopping? [ Read: It was mutual. ]

[ One of Nine's hidden skills or something? It's not even intentional. ]

Yeah, see that I can believe, yo. You don't really seem the type to not do shit when someone is chasing.

[ Also Dabi is too cool not to be the one to go for what he wants? or something? ]

[ Maybe. And wait, wait, hold on. Maybe he can redirect here. Less feelings talk, more business! ]

...but you don't think he'd act first. The bird was the one who wanted in with the League to start.

Yeah, but that's a different matter entirely, right? [ A beat as he looks at Dabi ] Wait. Is that what you're calling it?

[ How dare you see through his game. Luckily he can just take the question here. ]

[ Hey, he's curious about the shit he heard from the town watching the trial. ]

You know, your sleepovers with him.

[ Fortunately, this actually isn't the most unwelcome subject. Dabi's not shy, and as long as talk of actual feelings aren't involved he can manage just fine. ]

Didn't know we were in high school.

[ What the hell is a high school ]

You're forgetting who you're talking to.

[ The way he says it, it's like he's proud that he's at that level? ]

It would be weird if you called it the League, but I guess that's a good cover, yo.

[ Though imagining Dabi going League meeting wink wink is kind of funny on it's own. ]

[ Nine, Nine please. ]

...cover? He's basically part of the League now. [ Dabi won't step over into Shigaraki's territory, even though he pretty much just did. ] That's got nothin' to do with us sleeping together. Even if he likes to forget I'm still his boss.

[ Cover or just like bedroom nickname? Who knows... but at least this makes it clear that he's talking about the villain group instead of nightly activities. Dabi's coolness has been restored? ]

So, you're saying that he likes trying to call the shots, huh?

[ OKAY SO NOW there's a shit eating grin there. ]

Trying. [ That's fine, he has one to match it. ] He wasn't really lying about the missing feathers, y'know.

You know, there's better ways to mark someone, yo.

[ It sounded like he was doing some molting, and Nine has seen chocobos molt. It's not flattering. But since the trial was kind of brought up, Nine remembers that thing that stood out while the town was rabbling. ]

You know, he made it sound like he was afraid to lose you with that motive.

[amburere]

[ If Nine wasn't a teenager, his answer would be something completely different. Instead he settles for an amused "hnn". As awkward as that might have been, he sorely wishes that he had made some type of interjection if it meant they could have avoided this topic.

They haven't had the most time to discuss it, but it's not as fresh as it was so Dabi mostly manages to keep his expression neutral. ]

There ain't no ands about it, yo. I think it's cool he can say all of that, you know?

[ WELL SOME OF IT WAS COOL. but look Dabi has someone to keep things interesting so that's a plus? ]

Oh yeah, we're gonna be all over the tabloids. Number two hero and number two villain make for a number one romance!

[ .......he is not serious at all. But how else is he supposed to deal with any of this. Snark has never let him down before. ]

[ Snort. ]

Hopefully they captured your good side, yo.

[ Normally he'd just continue the banter, false bravado or not. But when it comes to shit like this, he still doesn't know north from south. And he doesn't want to know, at least right now.

He mutters something involving "notoriety" before deciding he should just change the subject. ]

Shut up. What about here? You get the same papers we did on the other side?

[linearcrash]

[ Nine is now used to being told to shut up or something along those lines. ]

Yeah, we do. It's the only way to find out what the hell happens in the other town. That and trials, yo.

[ Ty bakugou ig. ]

Nice, so you guys know all about Gant being a robot and Hawks' temporary celebrity status. [ Well he tried to change the subject for a few seconds, smh. ]

Yeah, though I guess I could have seen that coming. I mean, have you seen his hair?

[ Nine points to his own hair for emphasize. Old dude rocking the lightning hair doesn't seem legit. He has a moment to try to figure which moment of fame. ]

You mean when they thought he ganked the casino lights?

[amburere]

He's a waterproof model, loves to go swimming. [ And saved a teddy bear, what a good robot. He shakes his head at the second question, he had almost forgotten about that headline. ]

The whole hostage thing. Might've been nice to deal with the angry mob myself, though. It's been a while.
