GRAVEYARD

The other side...?
Have you started feeling at home in Cartesio yet? The town has offered you every hospitality that its citizens could think of. They love every corner of this town and they want you to feel the same. Have you accepted Cartesio into your heart yet?
Then it should be comforting to wake in your hotel room. A ceiling you have gotten used to, the warmth of a blanket surrounding you, your own breathing... and silence. All-encompassing silence.
It perseveres when you leave your room, it perseveres when you leave the hotel... Cartesio is quiet because there is nobody in Cartesio who could be making noise. It's a ghost town.
There is only you now, you think. And then, just as you've given up, a noise comes to your ears. A voice, unmistakably. It's time to follow it.
As of Week 5 you may see random objects and buildings of any size flicker. For milli-seconds they seem to glow on and off, blur around the edges, even distort a little. It only happens for a moment at a time, but it happens fairly often.
Welcome to the Cartesio Graveyard. Your character has woken up in a version of the town that is devoid of citizens, but there do seem to be a few people around. Time to explore the mysteries of the other side. For a more thorough OOC guide, we have compiled an FAQ.

around town \o/ a million years later
Yo.
[ He's honestly not even sure if he should be talking to him or not, but here he is. Hawks may be able to pick up on the reluctance on Nine's end, but there's no sign of anger or hostilities. ]
Replies a million more years later
Hey Nine. How’s it shaking?
no subject
Well, you know. It's the same shit over here, yo. Just a whole lot less crowded. [ A beat and a point towards towards the wings. ]
Hey could you stretch them out for a moment.
no subject
There may not be many people here, but I don’t think I should race at streetlevel, if that’s what you’re going to ask.
[Clear, peopleless areas that are long and straight are well known potential racetracks, afterall.]
no subject
[ Checking those wings out. Particularly the patches that are missing. ]
Man, you really do look like you're molting or something, yo. Maybe you can like stick some in from one of those feathered boas or something.
[ Can he touch? Because he's going to try to touch. ]
What's from Dabi and what's from the murder?
no subject
[Even rebutting a questionable suggestion, Hawks will let Nine reach for his wings. Currently they were soft and silky, but if Nine moves to pluck any he’ll have to watch his fingers.]
Not sure where your interest is coming from about which is which, but for what it’s worth none of the primaries and secondaries were Dabi. Too noticeable and necessary for flight. The coverts were decently fair game, though when we realized the feathers haven’t grown back yet, even the ones lost in the first couple weeks, he was a bit more considerate.
no subject
[ He's just making the most of being stuck in the GY. Not up to anything at all. Nine is surprisingly being careful with the wings. Not really tugging or trying to pull anything out.]
Huh? Oh it's from hearing the trial, yo. That and talking to Dabi earlier. He said he likes pulling 'em out when you're trying to be the boss.
no subject
Since Nine is being so nice to them, Hawks even lets a feather or two detach and fly around Nine. Hopefully he’s not ticklish, since each swoops around to lightly brush any exposed skin Nine has.]
...Why am I not surprised he said that? [instead of exasperated like the words might suggest, Hawks just sounds stupidly fond] That is when he usually tends to do it. So competitive. [hawks you hypocrite you’re also too competitive]
no subject
[ Do you want to play twenty questions with him. Also there's a beauty supply store here. Don't give him any idea. Also maybe not as ticklish as some people, but he's definitely surprised by the feathers. He has a lot of
cleavagechest out and his arms. Stifling a laugh as he leans away. ]Hey hey. You should save that for Dabi. [ A beat ] Is he even ticklish?
[ Now that's a thing to ponder for a moment and never ponder again after this convo. ]
You know, he sounds just as fond as you, yo.
no subject
Thinking of that day... the two feathers make one more circle of Nine before setting, not in Hawks’ wings, but resting against his face. Feather mustache, Nine?]
No comment on that, sadly. [That was said teasingly to the tickling comment, but as the feathers move back to his wings, he calms slightly] I don’t think either of us had much to relate to back home, so realizing the other could is a good reason to be fond.
no subject
[ He starts already thinking of a beard, which gets him laughing even harder.
Though the topic of relating brings him back to what they heard at the trial. ]
I heard most of what you said at the trial, yo.
feel free to ignore if you don't want month long backtags. life has been inconvenient
Hawks gives a bit of a pained grin and ducks to hide his mouth slightly behind his collar.] Yeah, I'm reckoning a lot of people heard that. Kinda the point, at the time.
[He wasn't going to let Dabi go alone, or someone else go under the bus for him. If he was overly dramatic to get their attention, well, he was generally pretty well known for that.]
no subject
Though the look he sees on Hawks face that gets hidden fairly quickly. It honestly softens some of the edge he's feeling there in the background. ]
I do admire you for sticking with him. That's pretty badass, yo.
[ There's an unsaid but there. Just pausing a moment as he rubs the back of his head. ]
If it was just me, I wouldn't have given a shit. I mean, I get it. I get what's it like to be used.
[ There's a heavy kind of pause there. ]
But you hurt him.
[ And that's where the issue lies. He hurt the person who he cares about. Also did he ever say how much he misses when things were a whole hell lot easier. ]
