The other side...?

Have you started feeling at home in Cartesio yet? The town has offered you every hospitality that its citizens could think of. They love every corner of this town and they want you to feel the same. Have you accepted Cartesio into your heart yet?

Then it should be comforting to wake in your hotel room. A ceiling you have gotten used to, the warmth of a blanket surrounding you, your own breathing... and silence. All-encompassing silence.
It perseveres when you leave your room, it perseveres when you leave the hotel... Cartesio is quiet because there is nobody in Cartesio who could be making noise. It's a ghost town.

There is only you now, you think. And then, just as you've given up, a noise comes to your ears. A voice, unmistakably. It's time to follow it.

As of Week 5 you may see random objects and buildings of any size flicker. For milli-seconds they seem to glow on and off, blur around the edges, even distort a little. It only happens for a moment at a time, but it happens fairly often.

Welcome to the Cartesio Graveyard. Your character has woken up in a version of the town that is devoid of citizens, but there do seem to be a few people around. Time to explore the mysteries of the other side. For a more thorough OOC guide, we have compiled an FAQ.

[Despite the day and all it typically promises to bring, Dazai doesn't feel all that worried. Being able to send a message yesterday helped-- he has faith in those he'd be most worried about. Even so during that... well, he certainly never expected a conversation like that to come up. It was funny, the idea that he and Oda would have the same tastes when it came to women.

Logically though he highly doubted that Cian was anything more than a victim of circumstance. She was just that kind of person-- just like Keith, any affection on her part was likely to be something of a mistake on the part of those watching. But that's fine. He does feel a little bad for her though, having to go through all that.

[ oda turns towards cian when he hears her, his head already racing to think of something to say. unlike dazai, who seems pr calm on the inside and outside, oda’s own calm demeanor is only superficial. in truth, he’s pretty much dreading this encounter.

but he’ll play along. oda nods, trying not to make eye contact with her for longer than half a second. ]

[ Hm. Attitudes between the two men couldn't be more different. That's making it difficult to gauge what is expected of Cian here. And... Cici?

She'll just... take a very deep breath. She's still smiling though, because a smile is the one socially acceptable constant and she will abuse this to the bitter end. ]

I thought I should... maybe address last night's conversation, because I think... Well, things have gotten a little awkward, right? I didn't meant to get in between you two.

[ She's not even sure from which end she's getting in between here? Dazai? Oda? Both can't be it, right? ]

I think we both had a little too much fun playing into the rumors that went flying. We probably made things quite uncomfortable for you— no doubt we should be the ones apologizing~

[At the very least he should be apologizing for making everything more difficult but— that’s just Dazai.]

Dazai has always been a huge flirt. It’s only natural they would have thought you were with him.

[ but oda is very surprised that they decided to add him into the equation. after all he’s... he’s basically a nobody in comparison to dazai! ]

[ Uncomfortable, upset... Those are a few interesting u-words Cian is supposed to be feeling but the more accurate one would simply be "unfathomably confused". ]

[ At least that part of her answer comes out quick and honest. ]

I was just kind of worried. The way you were talking to each other later... it had me concerned that I'm causing trouble for your relationship. If I overstepped boundaries myself, I am really sorry.

[ Though even she can't argue that Dazai is a huge flirt and responsible for himself on that end. The hand-holding though... that might be on her. ]

[ oda's not usually one to jump the gun on things or even decide many things on his own.

that said, he shakes his head when cian says that she's overstepped her boundaries. whoever's fault this is, it's definitely not cian's. perhaps it's his for not having any set boundaries or dazai's for...being himself, but not cian's. ]

You're fine, it's not your fault. I think, at least in my case, that it had been a while since I had met someone I could connect with on a similar level as with Dazai. Or something like that. [ he's TRYING to say that she's as important to him as dazai but. he's dumb ]
